CranioSacral therapy can assist both mother and baby in their journey through conception, pregnancy, birth, and infancy. It can bring your systems into balance, and help you move towards health and wellness.
During pregnancy, CranioSacral therapy can help you adapt to the physical and emotional changes you are going through. It can assist you in releasing old and new discomforts to bring your body into the optimal state of health for giving birth. After birth it can help you to integrate the whole experience and bring your body and system back into balance. It is also an opportunity to take some space for you, a timeout, helping support you in your new role.
During birth, the rigors of labor and the journey of being pushed through the birth canal, exerts huge pressure and stress on a baby’s body. This, as well as the transition from floating in the womb to landing on earth, can leave the baby overwhelmed and in a state of shock. Babies have great resilience and a natural ability to bounce back, but sometimes things are left out of alignment, and often the shock remains held in their young systems. This can then result in various baby complaints and conditions. Interventions, forceps, suction and Caesarian births, can all lead to their own sets of challenges. CranioSacral therapy can be very effective in addressing these issues. It can help to prevent or relieve many problems experienced by babies, such as:
- Colic, reflux and indigestion
- Irritability and excessive crying
- Feeding and sleeping difficulties
- ADD, Dyslexia, and Learning difficulties
- Ear infections or other recurrent infections
